Ginger

This ginger plant was planted from the ginger I bought in wet market. They are growing well at the shade under the Avocado plant.

last week rain and strong wind have knock down my trellis I made with unused gate. It make some damage to the ginger plant. I have saved some of them. They look healthy at the moment!

Ginger is used so much in Indian cooking as well as Ayurvedic application. They are beneficial rhizome to have at home.

This year I have embark into planting more rhizome kind of plants.

I have planted few gingers. It's growing slowly. Most of them look well for now! I was worried about the the rain season but all of sudden since last week it's really hot here! I can't see a single drop of rain and plants are all curl by the end of the day! I wish for rain now....sigh......

I use to place the basket full of onion , garlic and ginger in my open kitchen. Monkeys use to steal onions and throw my gingers away! Once i put up the "pagar", monkeys stay outside ! hahaha....

This is ginger plant from the monkeys work! i have few of them growing at the shade area of my garden and my neighbour too!

I don't know how to harvest ginger. I haven't google  about it yet! Do you think this plant have matured?
