Pak Choy in hot sun

This is my first time to plant Pak Choy. It was 100% germination. I have harvested most of them. The on left will be harvested this weekend! I do not know how to practice "cut and grow" method. Anyone to share the method?

I tried saving Rosella seeds but none germinated......End up i requested from Bangchik!

Bangchik have sent me Rosella seeds which arrived safely yesterday! Thank you Bangchik & Kakdah!

I took this photos as it's really funny on how all three plants - Ruellia, Kiss me quick and Torenia compromise at the same place. Initially i planted the Kiss me quick plant. After 4 months here is the outcome! I'm not sure if they are helping each others or fighting with each others. Ruellia and Torenia have self seeds themselves here! They are located so close to each others! I love them all that i do not want to uproot any..... Will they survive at same place? Let see....

New batch to come in!

Lady's finger plants are showing sign of ageing. The leaves have gone so much smaller. The lady's finger is getting smaller too.

Last weekend i transfered new batch of them. As for lady's finger i always provide them the same bed. They share place with Balsam.

Mulberry

Mulberry plants were given to me by Shida month ago. Not much growth at the moment but i think they are trying to strenghten their roots. The soil here is clay type. I have mix some potting soil before planting them. May be Mulberry roots having hard time to penetrate the soil! The other day i saw young shot on one of the plant which i thought have died! I'm waiting for more shoots and fruits now!

Oh NO!!!!

Have you ever come back from work just to find out that your favorite plant ransacked by something!! Yesterday i came back from work just too see my 3 corns all torn down by the monkeys! The corn was still in growing stage. Just the night before i sat beside the plant do weeding and wondering how fast and fat it has grown and today all gone!!

My anger on the monkeys was uncontrollable. It always ransack my wet kitchen that i have to put up grill! Took my bitter gourds, corns, tomatoes and now the little growing corns! Last months i called PERHILITAN guys for help! They inform me that they will try to catch the monkeys , if it's not possible they will shot. After 3 days my guard told me that the PERHILITAN man came and shot 2 monkeys...... I feel very unhappy and guilty to indirectly kill them. It's not my fault but i just feel very annoyed with them.  I promise myself not to call them anymore...But yesterdays incident make me annoyed again! I think i shall call them again !  In the mean time, i might have to stop growing fruiting vegetables.......

Sugarcane!

Sugarcane juice is very refreshing drinks during hot weather! I remember during my schooling time, i use to drink the juice at least once a week! Sometimes, i will just munch the sugarcane by itself. Indians have a belief that biting and eating sugarcane make the teeth strong and clean!

During Indian festival especially Ponggal, sugarcane will be tied in front of the house to resemble sweet year ahead!

This year after the festival, i cut and planted the stem. It's growing happily! The stem are still thin and young! I can imagine sugarcane juice in near future! hahahhaa....

    

Bitter Gourd!

Finally my grown up bitter gourd produce 2nd fruit! There are many male flowers on the vine. I wrap it with paper to protect it from monkey! Do you wonder if monkey eat bitter gourd? I don't think so but the 1st fruit was plucked by them! I think they tasted and throw it somewhere due to the bitter taste. So this time, i try to protect my single fruit! The plant is yellowing so this might be my last harvest!

Monkey in action!

All this while i use to write about the monkeys present in my garden but never take any photos of them! Last Sunday i manage to take photos!! There were about 5-6 monkeys came to my garden in the morning. I chase them away. One was a bit stubborn to tease me while sitting on the fence. So i decided to snap it!

Bayam....infected??

My whole batch of Bayam / spinach leaves infected by some kind of disease. The leaves have brown spot all over. This bed was planted with long beans vines previously. I tried pruning them but no effect. This is definitely gardening went wrong?.....

Bitter gourd learning.....

Two bitter gourds are learning to climb! I feel it's still their tender stage. The 2nd batch have many male flower but very little gourd for me....so i decided to restart in different bed and compare their growth!

Pinky!

The last time i posted about my pink Hibiscus, it was a small shrub! However, after 7 months it has grow big enough! As tall as me and bloom radiantly!

Sunflower!

Finally my single sunflower have bloom! I'm a proud gardener now! hahahaha.... The other 4 sunflower plants stay low. may be lack of attention from my side! I'm trully happy!

I have few more buds waiting for their turn!
