Beans - another batch

This time i have better luck with green beans! I sow 4 seeds and 3 of them are growing healthily! I saw some purple flowers too! Soon there will be beans for me to pick! Hopefully i can be faster than the monkeys!

I'm really having big problem with monkeys! They seems to steal + eat most of my vegetables! I have lost all my tomatoes, long beans and corns to them! I really appreciate if anyone could give any suggestions / ideas to chase them away!!  

Ginger

I use to place the basket full of onion , garlic and ginger in my open kitchen. Monkeys use to steal onions and throw my gingers away! Once i put up the "pagar", monkeys stay outside ! hahaha....

This is ginger plant from the monkeys work! i have few of them growing at the shade area of my garden and my neighbour too!

I don't know how to harvest ginger. I haven't google  about it yet! Do you think this plant have matured?

 

Persian Violet

Persian Violet is another plant that die on me 3 times that i stop buying them! They are so expensive for a small pot but have pretty purple blooms!

I discharge the last plant and pour the soil into my rose pot. From nowhere the baby seedling appears and grow so healthily! This make me wonder! The nursery guy told me that it should be kept in shade and less watering. But now it's growing wildly under sun and rain.......

I just transferred them to an empty pot and place them near the rose plant! Let see the progress!

Sunflower getting stronger!

Sunflowers are growing up stronger now! I have planted 5 in a row with 3 of them heading up now! 2 more are still adding more leaves at the moment! It were planted later. If everything goes well i shall see many sunflowers in a row soon! How is wish for it!

Atleast they have survived all the snail and caterpillar attack so far!

Zinnia Bloom

I have beautiful Zinnia blooming in my garden now. The flowers are very bright colours and bigger than the one i have in my garden. The seeds was given to me by One. Thank you for sending this seeds!

Holy Basil

Tulasi or holy Basil have set enough seeds for me to collect! I haven't decide to sow the seeds or keep for future planting. I do use the leaves for medical purposes. I have post on the benefit before here

If everything goes well, i will have a row of them in my garden!

Toad again....

I don't count how many toads in my garden but as far as i know there are 2 black colour big toads as they always try to make home in my wet kitchen, below the sink...... Now that i have fix the "pagar" on my kitchen gate after finding snake, i use to see them jumping outside at night.

This little yellow colour toad is new to me! It's a bit very alert that i couldn't snap any near shot!

I'm happy to see toads as they eat mosquito and beneficial to garden but...... it also a sign of food for the snake? don't they....OHhh.... i hope NOT!

Various shape of lady's finger!

Okra or lady's finger is one of the vegetable that i continuously plant in my garden. Most of them end up in my curry.

Growing Okra is easy too. I think vegetable beginner can start with this vegetable! It grow fast and produce harvest. The only set back of this plant ....may be in my garden is mealy bug and aphid attack! I have to inspect the whole row of them at least 3 days once!

Those below are matured and hard lady's fingers which I'm keeping for seeds collection. Don't they look funny? I doubt this is "lady's finger" .... May be a monster's finger?

Corn : Happy Valentine's Day

I have not grown corn successfully in the past. There were 10-12 seeds in the packet but only 3 germinated. Others never germinate or died half way. May be it's my fault.
These 3 sweet corns are the survivor in my garden. I don't put much hope in them but I do wish to pick some corns from them. I hope the monkeys don't steal too!

Mint is growing very well in my garden at the moment. Being an invasive plant, it had cover most of my Chilli and Curry leaf patch.

Roselle fruit



single plant with few fruits!

My single Roselle has bear some fruits. I do not know when is the exact time to pluck it. I don't have many to make juice or jam so i plan to get the seeds for next planting section. Do i need to wait until the fruit dry off to take the seeds? Hmm.... Hope anyone out there can teach me more on Roselle planting and harvesting!

Lady's finger hunting....

I think the post title is a bit very exaggerating.....

2 of my lady's fingers have over matured. I shall keep it for my seeds collecting later on. I only manage to pick another 2 lady's fingers . My early morning harvest.....



Aphids is trying to make nest.... I won't let this happen again!



Totally opposite.....

I have 2 Anthurium plants in pots. The red and the white.

The red Anthurium looks so lush but the flower spathes size have reduce so much....

Oppsss......What happen to my white variety????? The flowers are in green colour and the leaves looks so unhealthy... I put the same fertilizer and locate them at the same place...... 

The leaves were previously eaten by hairy Caterpillars and it was strange for me as the leaves contain toxic oxalate crystal! Did the caterpillars left some virus or bacteria to the plant? haha....

Daun Kari @ Curry Leaf

Many blogger friends have asked me on why my photos taken at night. This time i took in the evening! hahahhaa.... Daun Kari has grown taller!  The last when i saw it was still small. Did it grow over the night???
