I'm a week late from the actual GBBD day!

I was so busy to take any photos! Anyway now I will show some of the beauty queen in my little garden!

Torenia are growing wild everywhere all of sudden. I thought they have extinct form my garden!

Costus in red at the entrance!

Hibiscus in red! The only colour that survive well in my garden!

GBBD- June 2013

I'm early this time for GBBD of July month!

The sun is shining so brightly and it look like long summer here! It's been long since it rains but my plants are surviving due to my watering effort!

The ever flowering periwinkle! It has ayurvedic benefits!

I love the vibrant colour of cape honeysuckle! They have been invasive on my from garden but I'm happy with them!

Costus have been struggling for sunlight as the honeysuckle covered the area! I need to relocate Costus!

The self seeding Torenia is everywhere in my garden!

My yellow hibiscus!

 Some ants enjoying the nectar! Anyway my house have variety of ants!

Plumeria is flowering again but they have grown beyond my height!

 Wrightia is enjoying sun bath!

White hibicus is showing up too now!

Marigold is my favorites! They have both beautiful outlook and pest removal character!

Balsam is back for good ! :)

Can you see the spider? I use to see spider on this plant! Very strange! Grasshoppers have tested their teeth! The leaves have many medical benefits!

Those flowers below are blooming in my garden now!

I have a lot of self seeded Torenia all over the garden. But I'm Happy to have them at the moment. ;)

Adenium is flowering again. Beautiful deep red flowers!

Beautiful red rose! I wonder why red rose in my garden provide single flower at time???

It's all new area ....again....!

I have told about the Heliconia which i chop down due to it's invasive character and about the place which became ideal place for snake. Once all the Heliconia goes......the area become a bare area. After sometimes Torenia, Zinnia and Periwinkles started to self seeds that area. I throw some sunflower seeds which i thought not healthy but one of it emerge!

I planted 2 of my Euphorbia Milii cuttings and shifted my potted Thuja Platcycladus to the ground. There are still a lot of space available and the weeds are growing happily. I'm planning to put more Euphorbia Milii cuttings to make this place very un-inviting to poisonous reptile but I haven't start any..... I'm having to much to handle at the garden now since i have neglected them so long.....sigh...!

Someone told me that Heliconia is a plant which is very hard to get rid off and I think it's very true! Can you see the  baby Heliconia plant at the end corner?!

Plant Profile, Culture and Propagation :
Botanical Name: Torenia fournieri
Common Name: Bluewings, Wishbone Flower, Torenia
Family name: Scrophulariaceae
Plant type: Flowering annual with height of 6-12 inches, maybe even as tall as 15″ and a spread almost as wide for a very healthy plant
Light: Partial to full shade, but can tolerate hot sun. Thrives well with morning sun and afternoon shade
Moisture: Requires lots of water, so do not let it dry between watering
Soil: Grows best in consistently moist soil, preferably compost-enriched
Propagation: From germination of seeds or herbaceous stem cuttings. Cuttings root easily without the need of rooting hormone, just stick them into the soil and in a couple of weeks they’ll establish themselves!
