GBBD - May 2017

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

It was raining everyday until last Friday. Suddenly everything change. I can't see a single drop of rain for past 4 days! It's very hot weather! I can't really predict the weather now. Watering need to be done everyday now.

Nevertheless the plants don't mind the weather. They keep producing beautiful flowers all day long!

Look at below self seeded Torenia. I remember planting the blue and pink colour Torenia back in 2014. After sometimes they were missing. How ignorance i must have been! Suddenly I saw them growing everywhere and there is maroon colour too! What a sweet surprise!

I give the hibiscus heavy hair cut! Now they have bounce back and produce so many beautiful orange and red flowers!

Cape honeysuckle is still recovering from the trimming section. They have produce some radient flowers too! 

I'm not very sure of this plant name. They produce beautiful yellow flowers! very invasive too! I can find them everywhere in the garden. But they are welcomed here!

My Adenium have started to produce continues flowers since last October! What a lovely plant!

 Not to forget the long lasting Mussaenda flowers! Their bloom can last up to 3 weeks!

 Little Duranta flowers look so obvious in between the green!

GBBD - April 2017 & Wishes

Today is Tamil New Year. It's celebrated by all Hindu people around the world. Many sweets are made and distributed among family members! 

Many flowers are blooming in my garden now. So this is also my post for GBBD April 2017

 Costus are growing tall. They are almost reaching my waist!

Wrightia look so cheerful in white under the hot sun!

 The flowers of Mussaenda are in full bloom! They are so beautiful in light yellow colour!

Blue butterfly peas flower look so striking among the green leaves!

The ever flowering yellow Marigold flowers!

Hibiscus are a must in my garden! Very little care is need to take care them! I love this plant so much! 

Plumeria flowers are towards the end. They really have lasting flowers for almost 3 weeks!

GBBD - Nov 2015

Rainy season have started in Malaysia! It rains all the days. Yesterday it almost rain whole day! It's wet everywhere!  

Should I complain? I think no....I have seen the strange drought season and evil haze this year. So rain is a blessing!

Marigold is back in my garden. They disappear few years ago! I planted the seeds again middle of this year!

 Roselle do have beautiful pink flowers! The leaves are edible but sour! Some insect must have tasted and left them.....

Bunga telang look ornamental on the gate!

The lovely orange hibiscus is flowering profusely!  The ants love this flowers a lot. Some of the petals have holes. I'm not sure who ate them though....

 The flowers of cape honeysuckle always invite the bees! I have seen many bees buzzing around this flowers! They must be very sweet!

This was taken in the morning while sun was shining generously!

In the evening they cape honeysuckle had a good bath!

The pink rose bloom cheers the morning!

They are all wet after a shower!

Butterfly pea

Butterfly pea plants have been invasive in my garden as of now! All the seedling are welcomed here!

 I just love the flowers so much! They have very striking blue colours !

This is how the seeds look like. The other day my neighbour took about 20 of this seed pods! She just enjoy looking at the flowers!
 

Bunga telang - view after rain

Bunga telang leaves are seems to be water resistant. They don't hold water!

This is the view I snap after the rain. Bunga telang with Indian beans and lemon plant.

Butterfly pea or commonly known as Bunga Telang" in Malaysia is seems to be very happy growing at a corner of my garden. I can see many little seedling emerging from the garden floors. Sometimes neighbours who pass by pluck the dry seed pods!

It has strangle the lemon tree to some extend. The lemon tree seems to be ok with the vine. They seems to be living in harmony! Butterfly peas must have fixed the nitrogen in the soil for the lemon plant. So lemon plant don't mind to provide place for the vine to climb on.......

Bunga Talang

The scientific name is Clitoria ternatea, but commonly known as butterfly-pea, blue-pea, bunga telang and cordofan-pea, is a plant species belonging to the Fabaceae family.

 

Bunga telang is climbing vines which produce purple colour flowers! In Asian dessert, the flowers are used as colouring. It produce very contrast and beautiful blue colour to any dessert. Nasi Kerabu , a famous Kelantan rice recipe get it's beautiful colour from this flowers. The flowers can be boil and it produce beautiful blue syrup! The seed pod can be eaten while tender!

 

The plants are usually planted for ornamental purpose as well as to improve soil quality due to the capability to decompose N rich tissues. The roots form a symbiotic association with soil bacteria known as rhizobia, which transform atmospheric N₂ into a plant useable form. ( information from Wikipedia)

Indian use the flower as offering to god too!
