Papaya tree

Papaya tree is something very easy to be find in Malaysia. I would say every house in my hometown have them at home!

The fruits are so juicy and rich in vitamins!

I tried planting papaya tree few times however, monkeys always eat the young shoots end up the tree die after several attempt to survive failed.

Finally I was spared with 2 papaya trees. Unfortunately one turn out to be male papaya tree which can't bear any fruits. They can be only planted for Ornamental purposes. I'm not sure of another tree sex. The young shoot was eaten and it's quiet small.

I had a lot of young seedling but how to differentiate between male and female plant? Anyone have any tip?

Papaya male tree does produce beautiful flowers.

pokok misai kucing

Misai kucing or known as Orthosiphon stamineus is very beneficial herb. Locally it's also known as cat whiskers as the flowers resemble cat's whiskers.

The herbs are used for diabetic treatment, to reduce cholesterol, remove toxin from body, etc. The whole plants have great beneficial value. For simple treatment method, just boil the leaves and drink the water.

I bought this plant few weeks ago after knowing the goodness of this small herb!

May must be very good month for the plants. The weather is good. It's sunny and rain comes in right amount.

 I don't need to water the garden most of the time. The rain showers them in good quantity! ;)

The plants look so rejuvenate and bonce back giving so much of flowers! Many butterflies and dragonflies as well as birds come to the garden now.

lady's finger

I planted few lady's finger seedlings but left with only 2. Snail must have eaten them...or may be i have killed them....oppsss.....

This was taken on Mother's day. I guess the plant wishing and giving me some vegetable! hahahha.....

 They really taste good in fish curry. How do you cook your lady's finger?

pokok jambu air merah

Jambu air merah also known as red rose apple in English. The fruit is rich in vitamins and called tonic for the brain.

beautiful young shoots

My tree is almost 2 years old but I can't see any fruits yet. The plant grow so much that I trim them down last weekend. I add some fruiting fertilizer in hope to see some fruits!

The fruits are bell shaped, red in colour and cotton soft mesh like structure. They taste sweet. 

Sugarcane

Sugarcane juice is definitely delicious drinks during hot weather. I do not have machine to crush them and I don't see any shop who can crush the sugarcane to produce the juice for me at nearby area. So I opted to crush it using my own teeth. It was so juicy. I use to do that while young!

 I planted sugarcane at a corner to become support for the trellis. However now it serve more than the purpose! 

cabbages

Cabbages are progressing to form head. It's really a long wait to harvest cabbage. Almost 6 months. With pest around it's really a tough job!

I wonder how the farmers manage cabbages! I never succeed to plant cabbages on the ground. Too many pest attack. In my garden, cabbages are meant to be planted in the pot....
