GBBD - Sept 2012

I must admit again that I late for GBBD for the month of Sept. My Internet connection was down for the past few days.....

I receive comments from fellow bloggers that there are some warning of malware in my blog. Somehow after digging in to the setup and account of the blog, the problem resolved. Don't ask me how I did it since... I don't know..... iT just resolved once I click here and there..... By the way I'm not computer savvy.

Anyway I have some real beauties in my garden!

Indian Vegetable - an update

"Ponnakani keerai" is really easy to grow vegetable. Just cut and take the leaves for your cooking. The stem can be poke into the soil. Just water them everyday and it will grow. Such an easy growing plant!

It's very good for eye sight and for grey hair problem.

Pandan plants have grow up in to matured plant now! the leaves are big and long. Anytime when I need pandan leaves in my cooking, I just walk  and cut a few of the leaves. They don't mind the cuttings I guess....

Daun pandan can be used in cooking as it has very aromatic smell. In Malaysia, we use this leaves to cook 'nasi lemak' ( coconut milk rice), to do a lot of desserts and cakes.

Balsam

Balsam have pretty little flowers in red, white, pink , etc. They are pretty easy growing plants. I have many of them in the past and with a lot of seeds pod.

Unfortunately once I transplanted them to their dedicated flower bed early this year, the plant become leggy and no seeds pod produced. I'm not sure if the soil is the reason as the flower bed soil is rich with hummus and it's soft compare to flower bed which is mix between clay and black soil.

Finally after so long, I see their seedling near vegetable bed again and it has produce a lot of seed pods!

Mulberry plants have started to produce a lot of berries!

they are Delicious and nutritious fruit to have in the garden!

Mulberries can be used in baking cakes , jams and juices! At the moment, I only have enough berries to pluck and eat! :) I will try to propagate more of this plant!

Mango

The Mango tree has start to produce flower for the 2nd time. This time around not much flowers and I'm not sure if the Flowers will end up with good fruits since the flowers does not look so excellent. Last year we saw huge and long mangoes to harvest but lets see how this year will be....

It's very hot weather here with no rain at all. Everything is drying up.

New season for winged beans

Winged beans are slowly taking over the trellies. I purposely let some kind of plant which look like bush to grow. It will become good place for the winged beans. Good support and I do not have to watch out for the trellies during storm or heavy rain! ;)

Soon this whole area will be covered by winged beans. In malaysia , we called it "Kacang botol".  It has a tart taste. I love cooking it with chilli and shrimp. It's really tasty!
