Balsam plant

Few years back I had Balsam plants everywhere in the garden! It's very colourful and I like to collect their seeds pod! Once the pod ripen, it will pop! 

Out of my negligence during my pregnancy, I lost all of them. It was too late when I realise I don't have single plant in the garden. I was also not sure how all of the plants went missing.

I was searching high and low for this plant and finally last month I found the seeds in neighbourhood garden. I brave myself to ask the neighbour for the seeds even though I never talked to her before! Her house was 2 streets away from mine. She was very kind to share some seeds with me! After all gardeners are kind to share seeds!! ;)

Now I have little Balsam seedling growing in my garden! It's really a joyful ending to my hunt of Balsam!

Iguana?

It was beautiful and quiet Tuesday afternoon. I walked passed the walking path outside my garden. Below is what I found!

Do we call them Iguana? I don't really know how to categories then base on species. I specify all the walking one as Iguana! hahahha... Do you know the real name? I think it's still juvenile, Or maybe this is the size?

There was another blue ant near the Iguana. Can you see it?

Vegetable flower ! 

Pretty flowers! Soon they will produce seeds for next planting!

Hibiscus have started to flower again after heavy trimmings section. Unfortunately the flowers have dropped down in the evening! I'm late to take the photo!

Cape honeysuckle is back flowering after heavy pruning!

I love the Ixora plant! Luckily I decided to keep them!

Did I told about the roses? I have one ros kampung ! the only hardy one I find in Malaysia. Got is form my sister's garden! Came all the way from Melaka. Small red bloom!

The one I get from nursery die after some times.... May be they are meant for cool temperature like hill station.

Bananas from the garden to the kitchen

Finally the bananas were harvested last Sunday! They were all still green when we chop the whole bunch but now they have slowly ripening. Turning yellow. I can smell bananas is the kitchen.

 

The trunk was chopped and the inner soft stem was cooked too! They are really juicy and at the best state! 

As usual bananas are shared between friends and neighbours!

Currently I have 5 more green bananas bunches! It will ripe very soon. I'm thinking of banana cake and some traditional dessert like "cekodok" and "lepat pisang"! What else to be made? May be some banana shake!

It's really very useful to have banana tree at home!

GBBD - JUNE 2017

I have been trimming almost all my plants! It's very hot now and many pest making a comeback into the garden. I chase them away by giving all of them a good hair cut. I'm left with few blooms now but the garden look more tidy! ;)

 Costus escaped from the trimming section. They are growing wild at the moment. Some are at my height!

 The dried Costus flower can be ornamental decoration ! They look beautiful!

The nuts are edible but I never tried before!

Plumeria is flowering again!

Jack fruits

Two jackfruits are getting bigger!

I wrap them with papers to avoid pest! Hope this will protect the fruits and they will ripe nicely in 1-2 months

Surprise stay....

I have a Fern plant at the corner of my car porch. I trim it sometimes. No other special attention given to this plant. Last weekend there were a lot of bird chirping sound at the corner. I have a lot of visitor birds in my garden. Therefore I was not paying any attention until this Tuesday. I wonder what's happening over there! Everything look so usual.

Due to my suspicions feeling, i had a closer look into the Fern, and.... below is what I found! There were 3 little baby birds and a mother bird! How long it should have taken from building the nest, laying eggs, incubation of the eggs, hatching of eggs and so on! I miss all the process!

Gardening need attention. Unfortunately I juggle between work, family and the garden! I must have been so in ignorance all this while. Sometimes beautiful things happen while we are so busy with our life that we miss the chance to see it!
