Yellow and Green Croton

I think this is from Croton family too. May be another Picasso's paint brush! Very slow growing plant. It's been in my garden for 2-3 months but still not much of progress.

The leaves are yellow and green in colour! As other Croton plant this plant need a lot of watering and full sun to grow well!

Croton really add colour to the garden. It can be propagated through stem cuttings but i haven't try. The sap from this plant is poisonous. Be careful if you wish to trim / propagate this plant!

Butterfly.... caterpillar....Pest?

Did i add some kind of signboard that my garden is caterpillar farm? Gulp!

I always see many caterpillars in my garden. From big green type to hairy one! Those below are new in my garden....sigh.....

My powder puff plant have become bald. From my kitchen while cooking, i always wonder what happen. Since it was raining most of the time, i seldom go out to check but last Sunday i went to inspect the reason! The poor plant was home for many strange looking caterpillars!

I trim down my poor powder puff ( in hope it will bounce back!) . The caterpillars which i collected was thrown to not so nearby bushes! It might die for the lack of food but atleast not on my hand.......

Periwinkle




Maroon variety

 I have added 2 types of periwinkles to my garden earlier last year. It grow very well but after sometimes they died leaving little seedling around. These seedling does not grow lushly like the mother yet give some flowers for the day!

 Caterpillars use to munch their tasty ( i think so) leaves most of the time!



Some of the little seedling in rose pot! I never transplant and let them grow together with the rose plant due to the fear that they will die of transplant shock. It did happen before!

These is totally new in my garden. May be they pollinate themselves and create new type!

Lemongrass

Serai or lemongrass that i planted 4 months ago have become so lush!  I think this is the only vegetable that grows so well without much attention, no pest attack and happy under any condition!

Once in a while i will bring knife to cut one or two of them. Nevertheless they grow happily!

Tomatoes

Yesterday there was heavy rain at my place! I bet it showers everywhere in Malaysia now!

Little Tomato plants had good shower after sunbath! I had planted 5 tomato plants and 2 are fruiting. Unfortunately one of it is showing sign of wilting! Sigh...... Hope the other 4 will grow healthly!

Spinach!

Bayam or Spinach have emerge from seeds that i sowed 2 weeks back. . The torrential rain 2 weeks ago might have shifted all the seeds to the right side of the pot.

I like to cook my bayam with anchovies. It taste good that way. Indians use to make curry by mashing the leaves and mix it with dhall!  Bayam is full of iron! How you would cook your Spinach?

Hydrangea

I was hunting for Hydrangea flower for quiet sometimes! Finally i saw it in a Nursery in Sg.Buluh. It's a bit expensive but i bought it home. It has a small cluster of bud back then.

Now it has bloom so beautifully!  This species of ornamental shrub can really tell you the pH of the soil by their flower colours! The acidic soil produce blue flowers and neutral soil will produce cream petals. Pink or purple Flowers are product of alkaline soil ! 

Mine was cream in colour but changed to blue colour at the end!

This plant can be propagated by stem cuttings. It prefer filtered sun and a lot of watering!
